THE NBHL

The first NBHL event in Pittsburgh. We beat the Penn Hills Battalion 3-2 and the North Hills Nordiques 4-2, then lost 3-2 to the Penn Hills Imperium.

I played it in somebody else's jersey for some reason, so I wasn't wearing 11. No stats survive from it, and I'd be surprised if I had any points.

The NBHL's inaugural season, so it was everyone's first. I was back with the Pioneers in Tier 1, and in my own 11 this time. My one playoff goal tied a game against the Penn Hills Imperium in the Pittsburgh playoffs, and it was the nicest goal I scored all year.

We lost the Pittsburgh final to the Penn Hills Imperium, but the top two teams both went to the Mylec Cup in Marlton, New Jersey, so we went too.

We made the Tier 1 final there and played the Imperium again. They scored the go-ahead goal with about seven and a half minutes left in the third and won it 2-1. It was the first Mylec Cup ever, and the NHL Network ran the highlights.

A new team and another year in Tier 1. We were not good. Five of the six Tier 1 teams made the playoffs, and we were the one that didn't.

Red jersey, and I wore number 7 instead of 11. Last of my three years in Tier 1. The season ended in the playoffs against the Penn Hills Imperium.

Moved down to Tier 2 and switched to number 1. One playoff game, a 4-0 loss to the Mon Valley Wolfpack.

Tier 2 again, new team again, and number 1 again. One playoff game, a 4-3 overtime loss to the Penn Hills Highlanders, and I had an assist in it.

My best year in the league by the numbers, and my first NBHL title. We won Pittsburgh West Tier 2, sweeping the Butler Bantams 2-0 in a best-of-three final.

Then the NBHL Championships in New Jersey: 2-3, out in the quarterfinal to the West Coast Giants, who went on to win the whole thing.
